iAMP RSV Detection Kit
Current detection of RSV mostly requires extraction of nucleic acids from the viruses for downstream detection. The iAMP RSV Detection Kit uses a simple, extraction-free workflow to deliver results in under 90 minutes. This kit is intended to detect both RSV A and B in a single assay from a single swab.
Respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, is a common respiratory virus that infects lungs and respiratory tract. The virus usually causes cold-like symptoms but can be dangerous for infants and young children. According to CDC, at least 58,000 of children younger than 5 years are hospitalized each year due to RSV infection. RSV has also been associated with bronchiolitis and pneumonia in children.
