The iAMP HSV 1/2 Detection Kit can qualitatively detect and differentiate HSV-1 and HSV-2 DNA present in genital swabs from infected patients under less than 90 mins without any extraction process, making the assay inexpensive and user friendly.
An estimated 67% of global population under the age of 50 have HSV-1 majorly leading to oral herpes and 13% of under 50 worldwide population is suffering from HSV-2 causing genital herpes. While most of them remain unrecognized, their symptoms include recurring painful blisters and ulcers. They infect neonates, children and adults and is spread by direct contact with virus in secretions from either symptomatic or asymptomatic individuals.
Hence, to combat this ubiquitous disease, an accurate identification of individual with HSV infection is necessary for optimal patient management and prevention of transmission.

Dry swab in sample tube.

Add up to 750µL 1X Atila sample buffer.

Vortex & incubate at 95C for 10 minutes.

Add 20 µL Reaction Mix and 5 µL processed sample.

Run on standard PCR instrument.
